When I'm not writing comics or drawing and designing, I like to make music. I've fronted bands, singing and handling keyboards. I've also played drums in a few acts and even guitar (not very well) with a gospel choir.

Solo Work: Last Precious Cookie
I'm currently working as a solo act, writing and performing under the name Last Precious Cookie. The music takes on a wide range of influences. In my head my tunes are influenced by Imani Coppola, Cornelius, Harry Connick Jr, The Roots, No Doubt, Tori Amos, Missy Elliott, Pizzicato Five, M.I.A, Nelly Furtado, Prince and Dr Seuss. Whether any of that is noticeable by the time it's all been blended together I don't know. The noise mixes electronic and organic instruments, letting the songs guide me to wherever they want to go. I've always liked acts with many flavours swirled into one definite style, so that's the music I make.
I've comosed and performed theme tunes for podcasts including Rose Is, I also created the score / theme and sound effects for Ming Xien Yeo's cartoon Penveda Day Spa, which you can watch by clicking here. I've also remixed tracks for acts such as Anorak Light and Mindlobster.

Previous Bands

KABLOOIE
The name Kablooie was a reference to the comic book sound effect, and in particular a nod to Bill Waterson's fantastic Calvin & Hobbes strip in which 6-year old Calvin's favourite bedtime story was Hamster Huey and the Gooey Kablooie.
We played ska-funk-rock music heavily influenced by Extreme and No Doubt and played killer live shows. I handled vocals and keyboard, while Miss E played a mean guitar and sang back-up, Miko played the low grooves and Rami Siam hit things.

JAPAN
No - I wasn't in the band Japan. At least, if I was I have no recollection of that time in my life. I'm sure you wouldn't forget something like that so I think it's safe to say I wasn't. Anyway, when I was living in Japan I tried out various musical projects, open-miking at the Sugar-High Club in Shubuya, playing drums in a jazz-pop combo and playing percussion while singing back-up for Saya Oota - a collaboration that later developed into the group The Batsu-Marus.

THE CYBER BUNNIES / REDNECK SCENE
After developing a self-named genre Cosmic Acoustic Rap I started the Cyber Bunnies to develop the sound within a group. The band was short-lived (as we were London based and I was about to head off to live in Tokyo) but lots of fun, featuring Dave Howell, Rachel Hamilton and Piney Gir. You can hear the Cyber Bunnies track Bugleberry Tree in the Music Player on this page.
I would go on to work with Piney Gir again drumming with the band she lead with Steffani Botinelli: Redneck Scene.
DOENUT
I was singing in my first gigging band at 18, a funk-rock outfit. We were young. We were crazy. We couldn't spell donut.

Musical Commisions / Collaborations
Please contact me if you are interested in commisioning me to write and/or perform songs, theme music, jingles or other musical work. I'm also availble for live performances.
I'm also interested in collaborating with a drummer and other musicians to form a new London based band for recording and gigs, with myself singing lead vox and playing keyboards. Give me a shout if you think we could work some musical magic together.
